What a wonderful place to visit. The tour was very informative and it was so nice to learn about the processes and equipment used. Everybody of staff was very friendly. Even visiting on a rainy dreary day was fun. The whiskey is probably the best I've ever sampled and the mixed drink offering are amazing as well. I highly recommend the old fashioned. I can't wait to bring others back again for the full experience.
This is a must visit located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Very informative personal on hand to serve you and lead you on an informative tour of the distillery. Their tasting area is expansive. Their whisky is delicious but not inexpensive. Don't let that keep you away. In interesting stop in a beautiful part of the Old Dominion.
The Virginia Distillery is a beautiful location tucked away in the mountains. They offer flights of whiskey and whiskey cocktails, as well as tours. I visited for their 2nd birthday celebration and enjoyed some whiskey and live music and food from a local food truck. The employees were all extremely friendly and attentive-- definitely recommend!
If you haven't been then you need to go, the distillery is gorgeous, and the staff was top notch. The tour was interesting, learned alot. The hot butter whisky drink was so delicious. We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary there today. It was truly an Awesome day.
That being said, the staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and gave a pleasant tour. The double pot still is a thing of beauty to behold. Keep this distillery in mind to watch over the next ten years, while their experiments have time to mature.
A wonderful experience coupled with a beautiful facility. The tour costs ten dollars, and you will be asked if you want the barrel house tasting experience; my advice is to pass on the extra $ spent on that portion, seeing as you get the same opportunity to taste the very same whisk(e)y back at the bar. Paying extra to taste whiskey, while the group waits on you, isn't the best money spent.
